India has addressed concerns about fake videos and rumors regarding the release of water from the Farakka Barrage into Bangladesh following heavy rainfall. The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized that the operation of the barrage is a normal seasonal occurrence due to increased inflow from rainfall. The spokesperson highlighted that the Farakka Barrage is not a dam and shared that relevant data is regularly shared with Bangladesh. India urged for misinformation to be countered with facts.
