Leeds United Unlikely To Return For Target After Failing With Offer
Leeds United are unlikely to table an improved offer for Sheffield United’s Gus Hamer ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline, according to the BBC.
It emerged earlier today that Leeds are interested in taking Hamer to Elland Road from Sheffield United this summer.
Leeds tabled a bid of £13m but Sheffield United were quick to reject the offer from the Championship and Yorkshire rivals for the midfielder.
Hamer is considered a key player in Sheffield United’s bid for promotion this season and they do not want to lose him to one of their rivals ahead of Friday’s deadline.
It has been claimed that Leeds have more or less ended their pursuit of the 27-year-old Dutch midfielder.
The Whites will not be making another offer for the player before the transfer window closes on Friday night.
Daniel Farke is pushing to add more players to his squad, including a midfielder, before the end of the window.
However, it seems extremely unlikely that Hamer is going to be one of the players who will join Leeds.
