Washburn University's newest recital hall is set to open in 2025
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Washburn University has made a lot of progress on their newest addition to the arts program.
Since breaking ground in February, 2024, the James Hurd Recital Hall is now taking shape on the North Side of Campus.
The intimate venue space will hold up to 150 guests, and will give the community and students another space to perform in, as well as a lot of flexibility thanks to the design.
"Perhaps a small play is coming through we will set up chairs and a stage however it's needed for the specific performance," Eric Just, Assistant Vice President of Facility Services at Washburn University, said. "Giving us a lot of flexibility on what we can do here."
The recital hall is set to be finished Spring of 2025, just in time for all of the end of the year performances at the university.
