The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) announced on Tuesday that it had terminated a contract with French technology company IDEMIA. No reason was given for the ending of the contract. The contract covered an Automated Border Control, e-Gates and single token project initiated by ACSA. The State-owned airports company assured that this digital technology and biometrics project remained essential to its short- to medium-term strategy, to create a seamless and efficient experience for passengers passing through its airports, to their next destinations. It was ACSA’s intention to resume the project in the near future.
