Cyprus, Jordan to deepen military cooperation
The army chiefs of Cyprus and Jordan agreed on Tuesday to deepen military cooperation, which would contribute to efforts with other friendly countries to safeguard peace and stability in the broader region.
National Guard chief Georgios Tsitsicostas and his visiting Jordanian counterpart Yousef Ahmed Al Hunaiti also discussed international security challenges and developments in Gaza and the Eastern Mediterranean.
During his official visit to Cyprus from Sunday to Tuesday, Al Hunaiti was briefed on the mission and operational capacity of the National Guard.
The National Guard chief thanked Al Hunaiti for responding immediately to pleas to help firefighting in Cyprus.
Al Hunaiti also met with Minister of Defence Vasilis Palmas and visited military monuments.
