A total of 279 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir's three-phase elections on September 18. The constituencies span across 24 assembly segments in seven districts. Anantnag district sees the highest number of nominations with 72 candidates. The scrutiny of nominations will take place on August 28, with withdrawals allowed by August 30.
