Gloversville sex offender pleads guilty to assault
GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Fulton County District Attorney's Office announced that Kristerfer Passino, 42, of Gloversville, pleaded guilty on Friday to multiple charges stemming from a stabbing incident last year. Passino, a registered level three sex offender, was taken into custody on September 5, 2023.
As part of his plea, Passino admitted to stabbing a woman walking on the Fonda, Johnstown and Gloversville Rail Trail on August 29, 2023. Gloversville Police stated the victim was able to escape the attack and later identified Passino as the suspect, leading to his arrest.
"The District Attorney's Office and law enforcement would like to thank the survivor for the steadfast courage and resolve they displayed throughout this matter," said District Attorney Michael Poulin. "The survivor's bravery in coming forward and the numerous hours spent by law enforcement and this office investigating the case has ensured that a violent predator has been removed from the community and held accountable for his abominable behavior."
Passino pleaded guilty on August 23 to the charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree tampering with a witness. He's scheduled to be sentenced on October 8 at the Fulton County Court.
