Police investigating Monday afternoon Lake Charles shooting
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) -- A person was hospitalized Monday afternoon after a shooting in Lake Charles, authorities said.
The unidentified victim was later released from the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
CPSO deputies were dispatched at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday to an apartment complex on Winterhalter Street in Lake Charles after receiving a report of possible shots fired. While deputies were on scene, it was learned the Lake Charles Police Department received a call from a local hospital in reference to a victim with a gunshot wound.
Detectives said they received information that the shooting may be linked to an earlier altercation between the same individuals involved. The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
