Funeral arrangements for Rayne Police detective, family killed in crash

CROWLEY, La. (KLFY) -- Funeral arrangements for Rayne Police Det. Javonta Flugence, his fiancée Amber Davy and their two-year-old child, Caroline Flugence, who were killed in a vehicle crash on Friday, have been announced.
The funeral and visitation for the Flugence family have been set for Wednesday, Aug. 28., at the Rice Festival building, 717 W. Mills St. in Crowley. Visitation hours will begin at 9 a.m., and funeral services will start at 2 p.m.
Flugence began working as a detective for the Rayne Police Department in 2019, and has been described as "a one-of-a-kind soul who can never be replaced."
The family's final resting place will be Woodlawn Cemetery.
