PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man who was shot in the Cascade Plaza near Washington Square Mall by Beaverton police died Monday night, authorities announced Tuesday.
Officers responded to the area Monday night and shot Jacob Daniel Bundy, 39, of Portland outside Nordstrom Rack at 9175 SW Cascade Avenue — across the freeway from the mall — according to Washington County officials. Bundy died at the scene.
"Bundy exited the business as two Beaverton officers were walking up to the store. As officers attempted to detain him, Bundy pulled out a handgun," the Washington County Sheriff's Office said. "After a struggle in which Bundy fired his gun, Bundy was shot by police."
The officers involved suffered minor injuries, according to authorities.
Investigators said the gun and motorcycle Bundy had driven to the store were previously reported stolen in Washington County and Vancouver, Wash.
An investigation through the Washington County Major Crimes Team remains ongoing.
