FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Wednesday Evening,
It has been a record hot day today, with a high of 97°, tying the record from 1948. We are watching as a weak frontal boundary is pushing through our area this evening. This along with storms that have been firing on the northern fringe of the high to our south will continue to help some rain & storms to fire this evening.
Any of these storms that pop could have some strong downdraft winds, mainly ahead of 9pm. The frontal boundary will push to the south after midnight, taking rain chances with it, as lows will drop to the upper 60s to lower 70s.
Thursday the boundary will meander its way north, and will allow us to have another hot day, with highs in the lower 90s. It is possible again to have some late day pop-up showers, and a rumble of thunder or two as well. At this point, it looks as if the chance from them to be strong to severe is very slim. Friday will have partly cloudy skies early, with temps soaring ahead of the next cold front.
We will have a few isolated late day pop-ups on Friday, but the front appears to be moving a bit slower. This will have some good and bad impact on the forecast. It will help temps boost into the mid to upper 90s on Friday, and will allow for drier air. This could allow for less impacts on the FFN games Friday night.
The bad news about a slower moving front, the impacts will last into the start of the weekend, and rain showers will be in the forecast on Saturday, with some rumbles possible as the stronger cold front moves through our area. Due to a good deal of clouds, and rain in the forecast, highs should remain in the lower to middle 80s.
Clearing is expected for Sunday with highs in the middle 80s. Another front will push through late Sunday, mainly dry, and this one will bring some downright glorious air for Monday with highs back in the upper 70s to near 80 under mostly sunny skies.
Tuesday and Wednesday will have cooler air early, with mostly sunny skies, and highs back near 80 on Tuesday and mid 80s on Wednesday.
