The Centre has permitted the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to conduct Aadhaar-based identity verification for candidates on a voluntary basis during registration and examinations. This decision follows recent incidents of fraudulent activities, including the cancellation of IAS officer Puja Khedkar's candidature for misusing eligibility criteria and quotas.
