PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A brushfire has caused OR 47 to shut down both lanes at milepost 61, halfway between U.S. 26 and Mist, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced.
The closure is happening one mile south of Vernonia. Officials said the closure duration is expected to last at least two hours but it could be longer as firefighting efforts continue.
The closure is affecting all of the northbound and southbound lanes, including meidans and shoulders, officials said.
People are encouraged to use alternate routes.
