BART train hits, kills person in Berkeley
BERKELEY – A person was hit and killed by a BART train Wednesday afternoon in Berkeley, officials said.
The fatal collision happened around 5:45 p.m. at the Downtown Berkeley BART station, according to BART spokesperson Jim Allison.
“There was an individual on the platform while a train approached and apparently there was a collision,” Allison said.
BART police do no suspect foul play, according to Allison.
The collision disrupted service between the North Berkeley and McArthur stations, Allison said.
