Latham man accused of receiving illicit images of children

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Latham man was arrested for allegedly having child sex abuse images. Eduardo Abreu was charged with receipt of child pornography.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the 48-year old received around 225 illicit images of children. He was arraigned and has another hearing scheduled for Thursday.

If convicted, Abreu faces 15 to 40 years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, probation of five years to life, and he must register as a sex offender. He may also have to pay restitution to the victims.
