‘We Were Stuck In Bad Situation’: Indian Cricketer Radha Yadav Expresses Gratitude To NDRF For Rescue Amid Gujarat Floods

New Delhi: India’s left-arm spinner Radha Yadav sought assistance during the floods in Vadodara, Gujarat, and has expressed her gratitude to the National Disaster Response Force for their support.

In the video shared by Radha Yadav, the surrounding areas are seen submerged in water as rescue personnel approach on a raft, while others wade through chest-high water. Radha is part of the 15-member squad for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, which kicks off on October 3rd. The Indian women’s team will start their T20 World Cup campaign against New Zealand on October 4th.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has deployed two senior ministers, Rushikesh Patel and Jagdish Patel, to Vadodara to oversee and coordinate the relief efforts. Following his instructions, the ministers are working to accelerate the rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected areas.

The NDRF, besides SDRF and jawans from the Indian Army, has been deployed in Vadodara and other flood-affected areas to assist the local administration in carrying out rescue work on a war footing.

In Vadodara, several persons were reported to have been stuck inside their homes, while some of them even moved to the rooftop as water entered their houses. Rescue teams rescued them and shifted them to safe places.

Continuous and heavy rain lashed several regions of Saurashtra, including Devbhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot, and Porbandar for 12 hours. The IMD had already issued a warning about the heavy rainfall which will hit most regions of Saurashtra on Thursday.
