Severe delays on NJ Transit in and out of Penn Station during fare holiday
NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – NJ Transit is severely delayed in and out of Penn Station Thursday morning, according to officials.
Delays are up to 45 minutes due to signal issues in one of the Hudson River tunnels, NJ Transit wrote on X.
The delays are during the agency's fare holiday. All NJ Transit train, bus and light rail rides are free this week.
NJ Transit also experienced service disruptions on Tuesday and Wednesday. Service disruptions on Tuesday were due to Amtrak track maintenance in one of the Hudson River tunnels, while delays and cancellations on Wednesday were because of equipment availability and mechanical issues.
