Get out and do something this weekend in central Ohio, Aug. 30-Sept. 1
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) - From the first football game of the season for the Ohio State Buckeyes, to several festivals throughout central Ohio, here are things to see and do this weekend.
555 N. High St., Friday through Monday
- The 51st annual festival returns to Columbus where patrons can experience a taste of Greece through authentic, homemade food and pastries. The fest will also feature folk dances, live entertainment, vendors and more. Hours for Friday and Saturday are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday from noon to 11 p.m. and Monday at 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fortress Obetz, Friday through Monday
- Celebrating all things zucchini, the annual festival offer zucchini inspired dishes, activities and fun for all to enjoy including the Zucchini Parade, the Zucchini Car Show, concerts, rides and much more. The festival starts Friday from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Monday from noon to 6 p.m.
Ohio Stadium, Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
- The Buckeyes will take on Akron in their first game of the season.
Columbus Crew vs. New York City FC
Lower.com Field, Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
- The Columbus Crew face New York City FC.
Canal Winchester Labor Day Festival
Downtown Canal Winchester, Saturday through Monday
- The oldest and largest Labor Day festival in Ohio will feature musical performances, parade, car show, rides, beer pavilion, vendor market and more through the weekend.
40th annual Columbus Gospelfest
Ohio History Connection, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The annual “base ball” festival draws vintage teams from across the state and country to play by the 1860's rules of the game.
Franklin County Fairgrounds, Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
- The event will feature fun activities including live performances, Kid Zone, guest speakers and more. The event gives patrons an opportunity to enjoy an "alcohol and drug free day" filled with fun.
