Our Blood Institute hosts Pre-Labor Day blood drive

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Our Blood Institute (OBI) is beefing up its blood supply ahead of the holiday weekend.

“Although we have fun with this event, saving the lives of our family, friends and neighbors is a serious matter,” said Dr. John Armitage, president and CEO of Our Blood Institute. “We are grateful for Oklahoma Beef Council for helping us to encourage donors to take time before Labor Day weekend to help us prepare for any emergency that may occur.”

According to OBI officials, donors who participate will get two limited-edition T-shirts, an all-beef hot dog, courtesy of the Oklahoma Beef Council, and a chance to win a $250 gift card.

To give blood at an Our Blood Institute donor center here are the following details:

Date: Thursday, August 29 or Friday, August 30

Successful donors can expect to receive two limited-edition T-shirts: a Halloween-themed “Peoplejuice” T-shirt and a “Bigfoot Returns” T-shirt, plus a choice of one free ticket to Frontier City or Hurricane Harbor.

Participants can visit any Our Blood Institute donor center statewide for this year’s Pre-Labor Day blood drive.
