Austin Pets Alive! holds 'Cats & Coffee' and 'Dogs at Dusk' for Clear The Shelters
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Pet's Alive! (APA!) is hoping that two new events will help some furry friends find their forever home.
On Aug. 31, the nonprofit will hold "Cats & Coffee" and "Dogs at Dusk" at the APA! headquarters on Cesar Chavez Street as part of the 10-year celebration for Clear The Shelters, a national event meant to help shelter animals get adopted.
The day's first event, "Cats & Coffee," starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m., while "Dogs at Dusk" begins at 5 p.m. and wraps up at 9 p.m.
Both events will have music, food, and plenty of animals looking to be adopted.
APA! also said its shelter would be open late the same day and that adoption fees would be cut by 50% until Sept. 10.
The shelter said since the start of this year's Clear The Shelters, 323 cats and dogs have been adopted.
