Get Sept to party with these five ways to keep birthday bash costs down next month
WITH more birthdays in September than any other month, it is time to get set for party season.
If your little one is celebrating their special day with friends, you will likely want to send them off with party bags.
Read our tips on how to save cash when planning a party[/caption]Here are some budget-friendly ideas for little guests.
PLANT POWER: Children love sowing seeds and watching them grow.
A lovely and cheap idea is to put a couple of sunflower seeds in small envelopes. You can write “thank you for coming to my party” on the outside.
A pack of 50 seeds is around £3 from Amazon.
SWEET TREAT: Putting a little sweet treat in a bag can help bulk it out.
Try Aldi’s Dairyfine Choco Milk Bars, which are £1.99 for 16. And mini boxes of raisins are a healthy alternative. A pack of 12 is 89p from Aldi.
BOOK WORMS: Giving a book is a present that lasts the distance, and most kids can never have enough.
The Works sells ten children’s picture books for £10. Or look in local charity shops for second-hand books in good condition.
You can also get lucky on Facebook Marketplace and find big bundles of books for a couple of pounds.
COLOUR THIS: Most children enjoy colouring. You can buy small four-pack crayons, which will slot nicely into party bags.
You can get 15 of these packs for around £4 from Amazon. Then head to the Hobbycraft website where you can print off free colouring downloads.
There are plenty of templates to choose from, including sea scenes, sunflowers and dinosaurs.
AIR PLAY: You can’t go wrong with balloons — add one to party bags that can be blown up at home.
Or, if you have already bought a helium canister to decorate the venue, an alternative to party bags could be to give each child a filled balloon attached to a pack of sweets with string or ribbon.
A pack of 50 coloured balloons is £2.50 from Sainsbury’s.
