Tom Brady Reveals What Patriots Offense ‘Hid’ From Bill Belichick

Tom Brady thrived on preparation to help the New England Patriots embark on a historic dynasty across 20 seasons with six championships.

He didn't just drop that information when he hung up his cleats after the 2022 season. He held onto nearly every note he took from his Patriots days and plans on having a similar storage of information as he begins his broadcast career with FOX Sports this season.

In a new vlog for his YouTube channel, Brady took viewers through his old game notes and call sheets from the New England offense. Sometimes, those call sheets had plays that were installed without head coach Bill Belichick's knowledge.

"This is our final call sheet," Brady explained. "There's about 95 plays and Josh (McDaniels) always hid plays in here from Bill because Bill never wanted a high play count. Josh would asterisk plays. Then, there was the back of the call sheet. We probably ended up having 150 plays."

Brady specifically reviewed his 2016 notes in this episode. In that season, he thrived after his four-game suspension with a record touchdown-to-interception ratio (28-2) as the Patriots went 14-2. New England eventually won Super Bowl LI in dramatic fashion over the Atlanta Falcons.

Brady looks to thrive off of his football IQ and preparation again when he makes his broadcast debut alongside play-by-play broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt on Sept. 8 when the Dallas Cowboys visit the Cleveland Browns.
