Moose on the Loose: A season to remember
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The rosters across the National Football League were cut on Tuesday, and the start of the regular season is right around the corner.
The New York Jets open up Monday night, Sept. 9, against the 49ers in San Francisco. The Jets are my pick to win the Super Bowl this year.
Why? They are really talented.
At some point, the football gods will smile upon the Jets.
They have not made the playoffs since 2010. They are an organization that makes winning hard and is more known for their failures than anything else. The only time they went to the Super Bowl, they won it in 1969 with Joe Namath at quarterback.
With that, I do believe their aggressiveness should be rewarded. Two offseasons ago, they went out and got Aaron Rodgers to win a title—not to be playoff-relevant or to win the AFC East, but to go get that Lombardi Trophy.
General Manager Joe Douglas has rebuilt the offensive line. They have talented rooms at running back and wide receiver, and if Rodgers were to win a title in New York, it would be his greatest achievement in the NFL.
Throw in great special teams and a top-three defense, with or without Hasson Reddick, and the Jets are championship legit.
This is not hyperbole.
Believe it if you are a Jets fan.
Enjoy it.
Given your franchise’s history and lack of trust in the Jets coaching staff, I know it is difficult. But I will always bet on talent, and there is no question the Jets are a talented football team. Winning a Super Bowl this year is more than realistic.

Until next time New York, I'll be Marc Malusis.
