Chelsea set to sell forgotten striker who’s played just 25 minutes for £4m profit – in transfer to another Boehly club
CHELSEA are set to sell forgotten striker Deivid Washington to sister club Strasbourg in a deal worth over £17million.
The former Santos star only moved to Stamford Bridge last summer for £13m.
He made three senior appearances for Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino but failed to score any goals.
And after being left out of Enzo Maresca’s squad, Washington is now on the move to France.
L’Equipe claims he is on the verge of being sold to Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg.
The French side are also owned by Todd Boehly’s Clearlake Consortium.
They already boast Andrey Santos in their squad after the midfielder returned there on loan.
While goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has also joined Strasbourg for the upcoming season.
Chelsea will be sure to keep a close eye on Washington, who is billed as an exciting young attacker.
He netted two goals in 16 games for Santos before last summer’s Stamford Bridge switch.

Washington’s exit comes after Chelsea appeared to miss out on both Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen.
Both men have agreed to join Al-Ahil for a combined £300million and will undergo medicals.
But reports in Saudi Arabia claim there is not room for both strikers at the club.
And that could yet leave the door open for Chelsea to make a late swoop.
