Former Emporia police officer arrested on rape charge
EMPORIA (KSNT) - A former Emporia Police officer was arrested on charges of human trafficking and rape on Thursday.
According to the City of Emporia, the 33-year-old man had been employed by the Emporia Police Department from Mar. 13, 2017 until Dec. 6, 2017. He was released from the department before he completed his training.
The City said the current charges are unrelated to his time at the Emporia Police Department. They said this is an ongoing investigation and no additional information would be released at this time.
