Breaux Bridge man killed in early-morning St. Martinville crash

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY) -- A Breaux Bridge man was killed while walking away from a single-vehicle crash in St. Martinville early this morning, authorities said.
Langston Timothy Mayfield, 34, of Breaux Bridge, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash in the 1000 block of Cypress Island Extension.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of vehicle crash involving a pedestrian shortly after midnight Friday, officials said.
Investigators said Mayfield was initially involved in a single-vehicle crash and was walking from the scene when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Cypress Island Extension. Breaux Bridge Police assisted in the investigation.
The crash investigation remains ongoing, and toxicology results are pending.
