Heat ending with rain chances to start weekend for Columbus area

Good Friday Evening,

After another very hot afternoon with highs up near the record, climbing to the upper 90s, a few late day rain showers and t-showers are providing a bit of relief from the heat for some of us. Things will be quite warm for the FFN games this evening, with temps remaining in the 80s during the games. Overnight, we will have mostly cloudy, and warm conditions with lows in the lower 70s.

Saturday, expect a good deal of clouds, and on and off rain showers, some thunderstorms too, mainly in the morning to mid afternoon hours. This will be ahead of a cold front, and because of the clouds and rain nearby, temps will be significantly cooler that most of this work week, but will remain near normal in the lower 80s.

Rain chances will end for Saturday night, with lows in the middle 60s. Behind the front, skies will clear, and we will have tons of warm sunshine on Sunday, and will climb back into the upper 80s. A second, dry cold front, will push through late Sunday into Sunday night, and provide us with an ideal Labor Day Monday, with highs near 80 and sunny skies.

We will return to our familiar pattern next week. Sunshine, no rain, and highs slowly climbing. It will not be as extreme as this week, as we will be near normal Tuesday in the lower 80s, mid to upper 80s Wednesday and Thursday. Friday we will have more clouds, and possibly a shower or two, but the chances as of now look very slim. But a cold front will drop through.

This will bring temps back to the lower 80s on Friday, and could provide even more enjoyable air behind the front for next weekend.
