‘No good qualities’ rage EastEnders fans as they beg bosses to axe new character after just weeks on screen
WALFORD viewers are calling for sleazy Junior Knight to be axed from the show because he has no ‘good qualities’.
They are growing tired of his affair with Cindy Beale, with one even calling for the pair of them to ‘do one.’
Viewers want to see less of Junior after he shows ‘bad qualities’[/caption] Junior and George were reunited again during a boxing match[/caption]Junior, played by Micah Balfour, burst onto the Square in May when he was reintroduced to his father George Knight as his boxing opponent.
However, George, realising the family connection, refused to fight and they got in a punch-up with the staff.
George took him back to The Vic and he reunited with his half-sisters Gina and Anna.
As he rekindled connections with his family he also stirred up old tensions.
It turned out that aged 12, Junior moved to Peckham after his parent’s divorce and became estranged from George.
However, he went on to do well for himself, becoming an entrepreneur with his own business, relocating to Dubai and marrying Monique and having a son together called Xavier.
However, when they returned to Walford he became entangled in various dramatic events, which expose his shady side.
He had a series of trysts with Bianca which lead to the break up of his marriage with Monique.
Then he struck up an even steamier affair with Cindy Beale, played by Michelle Collins, who is married to Ian Beale.
Cindy and Junior have been sneaking off for months behind Ian’s back and the ‘no strings’ affair seems to be getting Cindy hot under the collar.
Junior has been playing games by dating ‘Maxine’ to make Cindy jealous.
Their ‘on-off’ covert relationship is driven by the thrill of potentially being caught.
In fact, the pair have almost been rumbled by George – Cindy’s ex-husband, making him technically at one time Junior’s stepmother.
Things reached a steamy climax when their rendezvous at Peggy’s was interrupted by a dramatic ‘crush’ at the club.
Now it looks like they are about to be exposed by Lauren, who saw the pair getting it on in the office.
Overall Juniors’ sleazy behaviour is not going down well with fans. Many took to X to share their outrage at the character, calling for him to be axed from the show.
One said: “Junior is a class A p***k. No good qualities about him #EastEnders – great scenes in EE overall though.”
Another added: “Junior was only brought into #EastEnders to tick another box, pointless character needs to go soon!”
Many are beginning to tire of the Cindy and Junior affair. When the affair is eventually exposed it is going to set shockwaves throughout the square.
Many are looking forward to the love rats being exposed, with one writing:“Cindy and junior, there’s deffo cameras in there… can not wait for the story to be over #EastEnders
Another enraged fan wrote: “I’m over Cindy and junior can they both just do one.”
This was a sentiment echoed by another “They need to be wrap up this Cindy/Junior affair IMMEDIATELY! “
It looks like things have reached a crescendo as one fan wrote: “Typical selfish behaviour from Cindy. Lauren could have died and left her grandchild without a mother, but all she is worried about is her sick affair with junior getting found out. I’m so sick of this. l enough now like just end it already ffs #EastEnders
Best soap affair love triangles
LOVE triangles are a fundamental part of soap-land, but which ones have become the most iconic?
EASTENDERS
Bradley/Stacey/Max: Stacey Slater began an affair with boyfriend Bradley Branning’s dad Max in 2007.
Despite their romps, Stacey still married Bradley, but their deceit came out in an iconic Christmas Day episode that year.
Grant/Sharon/Phil: Heading even further back in Walford history, EastEnders fans were gripped in the 90s as Sharon Watts had a one-night stand with her brother-in-law Phil Mitchell.
Sharon confided in best friend Michelle Fowler – not realising it was caught on tape – and her husband Grant eventually found out and played it in front of everyone at the Queen Vic.
Syed/Amira/Christian: Syed Masood was engaged to Amira before realising he had feelings for another man, Christian, which he confessed to him on his wedding day.
A devout Muslim, Syed refused to admit his true sexuality and went ahead and married Amira anyway, but when they returned, the two men started an affair before being caught in the act by Amira.
CORONATION STREET
Shelley/Peter/Lucy: Peter Barlow took the concept of a love triangle and ran with it in Coronation Street – extending it to bigamy.
He was in a relationship with Shelley Unwin but started dating Lucy Richards, and quickly married her after she fell pregnant with his son, Simon.
But it didn’t stop him also marrying Shelley, but he was eventually caught when Lucy turned up in Weatherfield and the two women confronted him.
Ken/Deidre/Mike: Back in 1982, Deirdre Barlow started sleeping with her husband’s nemesis Mike Baldwin in secret, before confessing all a year later.
When Mike turned up at the marital home, Deirdre was being throttled by her husband who then kicked her out, but years later they reconciled.
Maria/Aidan/Eva: In 2017, Aidan Connor started sleeping with girlfriend Eva Price’s best friend, Maria Connor.
Eva eventually found out and she decided to take revenge by faking a pregnancy, spending his money and planned to confront him on their wedding day.
But she had a change of heart when a remorseful Aidan confessed, and decided to marry him anyway, only for Maria to arrive and expose her fake pregnancy.
EMMERDALE
Ross/Debbie/Pete: Debbie Dingle found herself torn between two brothers, Ross and Pete Barton in 2015 in Emmerdale.
She eventually decided to marry Pete but yet again, a soap wedding day was ruined when the groom learned of his bride’s betrayal via a recording played at the wedding.
Chrissie/Robert/Aaron: Robert Sugden was married to Chrissie White and all seemed well – until he began a steamy affair with Aaron Dingle.
Robert’s ex Katie Sugden almost exposed the affair – but fell to her death before she had the chance.
However, a guilty Aaron eventually cracked and told Chrissie about the affair – after which she announced it to the whole pub.
EastEnders airs on BBC 1 from 7.30pm Monday to Thursday.
