NYC parking rules for Labor Day 2024
NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – If you stuck around in the city this Labor Day weekend, here’s everything you need to know about parking rules for the holiday.
Alternate side parking regulations are suspended in New York City Monday, meaning drivers can park at posted alternate side parking signs regardless of the times listed.
Parking meters will not be in effect on Monday, so parking is free for the holiday. Cars can also park at “No Stopping, No Standing, or No Parking” signs on Labor Day, but parking is still prohibited at signs that read “No Standing Anytime.”
Find parking rules for a specific street using this NYC Department of Transportation map.
If you’re not getting around by car, subways and the LIRR will run on weekend schedules today with some additional service changes.
The Department of Sanitation will not collect trash on Monday. Anyone with Monday trash, compost or recycling pickup should put their trash out Monday night for collection Tuesday.
In Brooklyn, the 57th West Indian American Day Carnival will prompt several street closures Monday including Grand Army Plaza and stretches of Eastern Parkway.
