Strictly and Waterloo Road’s Adam Thomas left in agony and begs fans for help as he injects medication after diagnosis
STRICTLY and Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas has been left in agony and took to social media to beg fans for help.
The Emmerdale actor pleaded with supporters as he was injected with medication after his shock diagnosis.
Adam Thomas, 36, took to his Instagram grid page as his wife, Caroline Daly, tried to help him manage his symptoms.
The former I’m A Celebrity personality was previously diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis earlier this year.
Now he has opened up more about his journey with the mobility condition on his social media.
He posted a video showing his leg being injected with methotrexate medication to help ease his joint pains.
Alongside the clip, he wrote an essay where he begged fans for help or any words of advice they may offer.
He exclaimed: “There has to be an easier way than this!!
“Don’t get me wrong it’s worked wonders, but am still in pain and the side effects that this drug has is really taking its toll now!
“Is anyone else on this or have been on this and noticed a huge difference in themself, I feel like am constantly in fog! Drowsy, falling asleep all the time, stomach pain, throwing up!
“Maybe it’s because I’ve not been as consistent with it as usual am not sure, but feels as though the side effects are getting worse, and lasting a lot longer.”
When asking his one million followers for more advice, he added: “Has anyone been on methotrexate and moved to something else that worked for them? Any help or advice would be great x.”
Fans flooded the comments section to share their stories in droves at they attempted to help the actor.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease where your immune system mistakenly attacks the cells in your joints.
He previously revealed his heartbreaking health battle as he posted a snap from the hospital in February.
In his Instagram caption Adam wrote: “Little update on my arthritis journey so far…
[It[ feels as though the side effects are getting worse,and lasting a lot longer.

“So been In and out of hospital for a while now, tried all sorts of medications and painkillers. But nothings really working,so time to try something new.
“Today i had steroid injections, which really helped ease the pain and inflammation last time, so hopefully it will do the same,until my prescription arrives for the new medication.
“I will be trying a disease modifying drug which I will then take (if it works)for the rest of my life or until I go into remission. It’s been a long and hard battle and as of yet nothing has worked,but I’m hopeful!
“I’ve suffered just over a year with arthritis and I have to say it’s been the toughest period of my life to date.
“I’m a firm believer of everything happening for a reason, but I don’t really have the answer to that just yet. If I’m being completely honest… I’m suffering…I don’t think i want to suffer in silence no more x.”
What are the symptoms of Rheumatoid arthritis?
Pain – Patients could suffer with a throbbing and aching pain in their joints. According to the NHS, it may often feel worse in the mornings or after a period of inactivity.
Stiffness – Joints affected by the condition can feel stiff and inflexible. For example, you may not be able to fully bend fingers or form a fist in an affected hand.
Swelling, warmth and redness – Joint linings are also affected by rheumatoid arthritis and they could become inflamed. Joints could then swell, and become hot or tender to touch.
Other symptoms: These can often include tiredness, lack of energy, a high temperature, sweating, a poor appetite and weight loss
