The UAE president has pardoned 57 Bangladeshi citizens who were convicted for protesting against their own government. Their sentences have been annulled and they will be deported. This move follows the UAE president's congratulations to Muhammad Yunus, the new interim leader of Bangladesh, after former prime minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to leave the country.
