Is Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions down? Players say new game ‘isn’t working’ as Warner Bros investigates issue
HARRY Potter fans have vented their frustration on social media as the new Quidditch Champions game suffers launch teething problems.
The highly-anticipated title was made available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC at 12pm BST / 7am ET but a number of users have reported it “isn’t working”.
Gamers were hoping to play the game at 12pm BST / 7am ET[/caption]Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions allows players to customise their character and choose from the four positions: chaser, beaters, keeper, and seeker.
It’s more than 20 years since the last standalone Quidditch game was released – the previous title being 2003’s Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup.
But not everyone appears to be able to join in on the fun just yet with reports of issues.
“Why can’t I get in on xbox,” one player wrote on X.
“Server disabled for maintenance 20 minutes after the game launched? This isn’t serious,” another commented.
Meanwhile, others have complained that they started the game only to be kicked off claiming an internet issue, despite there being no problems with their connection.
Warner Bros’ gaming division WB Games has responded to concerned players on X, saying it is investigating “server connectivity issues”.
“We are aware of reports of server connectivity issues and the issue is currently being investigated,” the company said.
“Feel free to keep an eye on out for updates on our socials.
“Thanks for your patience while this is being looked into!”
It’s not clear whether the issues are across all platforms or limited to some.
But in a follow-up post, WB Games said: “For our console players on PlayStation, if you hit a “maintenance mode” screen while attempting to launch please restart your app, and make sure all updates are downloaded!
“For those on Xbox experiencing a network error, we are investigating with Microsoft and will have an update as soon as possible.”
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions doesn’t launch on Steam or Epic until 2pm BST / 9am ET.
