Man United now want €30m Juventus star for problem position as transfer mooted - report
Juventus left-back Juan Cabal has caught the eye of Manchester United and they are closely following his development, according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve.
Left-back is a position the Old Trafford club are looking to strengthen after Luke Shaw recently sustained another injury.
Tyrell Malacia missed the whole of last season and is still ruled out, which has left Man United looking for a new left-back.
Manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly lining up a move for Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson to replace Shaw if funds can be raised ahead of the January transfer window. Cabal has also emerged as a target.
The 23-year-old Colombian joined Juve from Hellas Verona in July for €12 million, signing a five-year contract.
Man United are already scouting him, with some of their representatives regularly watching him in action and monitoring his development.
The Red Devils could table a bid for the South American in January or next summer if they are convinced he can solve their left-back problems. Juve will ask for at least €30m.
Cabal has hit the ground running at his new club, featuring in all their three Serie A games this season.
His defensive and attacking abilities have impressed Juventus, with winning aerial duels, blocking and intercepting the ball, tackling and crossing some of his strengths.
Man United could do with such a talented player after Ten Hag has had to deploy versatile Portuguese right-back Diogo Dalot at left-back this term.
However, luring Cabal to the Theatre of Dreams could prove tricky in the coming months as he is slowly establishing himself as a regular at a new club.
He would not want to leave unless he is guaranteed a starting berth and Champions League football elsewhere.
