Latham man sentenced for child sex abuse image possession
LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that Scott Weinbloom, 49, of Latham, was sentenced to eight years and one month in prison for having child sex abuse images. Weinbloom pleaded guilty on February 1.
As part of his plea, Weinbloom confessed that in May of 2022, he was in the possession of hundreds of photos and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children across two computers and a USB flash drive in his home. The devices were recovered by detectives during the investigation.
In addition to his prison time, Weinbloom was ordered to serve a term of post-release supervision of 20 years and to pay $72,000 in restitution to the child victims. He will also be required to register as a sex offender when he is released.
