Cubs place RHP Jorge Lopez (groin) on IL

The Chicago Cubs placed right-hander Jorge Lopez on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right groin strain.

In a corresponding move, the Cubs recalled righty Trey Wingenter from Triple-A Iowa.

Lopez, 31, is 2-3 with a 3.00 ERA with four saves in 50 relief appearances this season with the New York Mets and Cubs, who signed him as a free agent in June after his release from th
