Man, 66, shot multiple times after threatening suspect with gun: sources

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A 66-year-old man was shot multiple times during a shootout over a parking spot in the Bronx Thursday morning, according to police.

The 66-year-old man threatened the suspect with a gun before he was struck several times near 1473 Bryant Ave. between Jennings Street and East 172nd Street in Crotona Park East at around 9 a.m., according to police and sources.

Officers found the man unconscious and unresponsive before he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

A 48-year-old woman was also shot and taken to the hospital with a graze wound to the ankle, police said.

Authorities said the suspect was dressed in a red hoodie, black pants, and red hat and ran southbound on Bryant Avenue towards Jenning Street. There have been no arrests.

It was unclear if the suspect was also shot.

Police said the 66-year-old man will be charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
