India’s Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, was named one of TIME magazine’s "Most Influential People in AI 2024" for leading the country’s efforts to become a major AI player. Despite not yet having binding AI laws, India has chaired the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence and hosted the Global IndiaAI Summit, aiming to democratize technology.
