Taraji P. Henson Gets Wild in Snakeskin Mary Jane-Inspired Kitten Heels at Jonathan Simkhai SS25 Show in New York
Taraji P. Henson attended a Jonathan Simkhai fashion show held during New York Fashion Week yesterday in New York. Beyond Henson, other notable attendees included Suni Lee, Indira Scott, Devon Windsor and Olivia Palermo, among others.
Channeling her inner wild side, the “Person of Interest” star sported a pair of snakeskin Mary Jane-inspired kitten heels from Jonathan Simkhai. Retailing for $495.00 via Shopbop, the designer silhouette features snakeskin leather uppers in neutral hues that transition into sharp pointed toes, sturdy but thin Mary Jane-inspired straps and an open back allowing for a slip-on construction. The kitten heel is short and sweet, giving the thespian a subtle boost in height. The designer’s brand name was embossed on the cushioned insoles.
The snakeskin-embossed uppers offer the footwear pick a unique textural finish that really makes them pop. If the neutral colorway isn’t your thing, the Jonathan Simkhai kitten heel also comes in a dark brown snakeskin, offering prospective buyers a more vampy silhouette. Loewe, The Attico, Gianvito Rossi and Aquazzura all feature similar reptilian styles to Henson’s Simkhai style.
The “Empire” star was also suited up in a light brown suiting-inspired maxi dress fixed with a collared neckline, structural shoulders and button closures. Henson’s dress was belted, offering dimension and shape. Underneath, the thespian donned a black lace bralette, contrasting the formal touch of her dress.
The “Hidden Figures” actress has never shied away from a fashion statement, especially on the red carpet. Henson regularly stuns in feathered, pleated and sparkling gowns featuring cutouts, slits and dramatic trains from labels like Alexandre Vauthier, Vera Wang and Giambattista Valli.
On the footwear front, she often favors Christian Louboutin for tall platform pumps. However, the star is also known to wear slingback heels, over-the-knee boots and strappy sandals from brands like Valentino, Jimmy Choo and Pedro Garcia.
