Chestertown man arrested for alleged rape of a child
CHESTERTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- State Police arrested a Chestertown man on Monday for allegedly raping a child under the age of 15. Troopers said Riley P. May, 23, was charged with second-degree rape and second-degree criminal sex act.
Troopers said the crime happened Monday, Aug. 19, after they received information about a man participating in a sexual act with a minor. During their investigation, Troopers discovered May had reportedly engaged with the child under the age of 15 more than once during the summer of 2024 in Chestertown.
May was processed at the State Police barracks in Queensbury. He was arraigned in Chestertown Town Court and released under the supervision of the Warren County Probation Department.
