Storm Francine: Iberia Parish officials issue curfew
UPDATED, 9/10/2024, 5:20 p.m. -- Iberia Parish officials have issued a curfew for the entire parish.
The curfew includes municipalities of Delcambre, Jeanerette, Loreauville and New Iberia.
The curfew begins Wednesday at 11 a.m. and ends Thursday at 7 a.m.
ORIGINAL: IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- Jeanerette officials have issued a curfew for tonight and Wednesday night.
According to a press release, the curfew is effective Tuesday at 8 p.m. until Wednesday at 6 a.m. and again on Wednesday at 8 p.m. until Thursday at 6 a.m.
Jeanerette officials said the curfew does not apply to anyone going to or from work or any other critical or essential business activity as defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency.
What the curfew means:
All public and private gatherings will be canceled or prohibited in non-emergency situations and where possible. Personal gatherings, however, should be limited to the number of persons in a reasonable household.
Bars and restaurants will not be open during curfew hours.
