AMBER Alert canceled for Wichita child that was forcibly taken

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The AMBER Alert that was issued for a five-year-old in Wichita Wednesday just before 8 p.m. has been canceled.

The Wichita Police Department told the Kansas Bureau of Investigation that the child was forcibly taken from his mother by his father, utilizing a knife and firearm during a domestic incident.

The KBI said the child was in imminent danger. The suspect left in a vehicle, but that vehicle was found in a separate location.

According to the KBI, the child was found before 9 p.m. and is physically safe with the Wichita Police Department.
