BBC star announces shock exit after five years – leaving fans devastated
A BBC Radio star has confirmed their exit from the corporation after five years in a surprise move.
Adam Guest joined BBC Radio Shetland back in 2019 but confirmed that he had done his final day of broadcasting for the network already.

Adam beamed proudly as he was joined by his supportive colleagues and a special cake created in order to wish him well.
It featured a fondant mock-up of Adam playing the guitar and featured the touching message: “All the best Adam.”
Captioning the accompany post, BBC Radio Shetland said: “From everyone here, thanks so much for your work over the years, it’s been a pleasure!
“All the best for the future, and farewell for now.”
Adam had previously worked for The Shetland Times and The Barnsley Chronicle before joining the Beeb.
He is the latest in a long line of stars to quit the company with many of his colleagues also having recently decided to walk away from the BBC.
Last month, BBC News star Emmanuelle Lhoni confirmed in a lengthy post that she had decided to walk away from the BBC despite it being a “childhood dream come true”.
The 29-year-old became the youngest black female weather presenter with the corporation after joining local programme North West Tonight as one of its leading weather presenters.
The glam weather broadcaster has also been increasingly seen delivering news reports on sister channel BBC World Service as well as the flagship show BBC Breakfast.
Revealing her decision to quit, the star said: “After 5 AMAZING years, it’s time to say goodbye to BBC North West Tonight.
“It’s an understatement to say working on this programme was a childhood dream come true! (I’m from Greater Manchester so you know we always watched North West Tonight!)
“I still can’t believe I got to work with and learn from journalists and presenters I looked up to and admired for years.
“Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to this point and during these 5 years. And a BIG thank you to our viewers.”
