Stray bullet injures multiple people in Queens: police sources
QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 75-year-old man was shot in the jaw by a stray bullet while riding his bike in Queens Thursday, police sources said.
A stray bullet also struck a 14-year-old girl in her thigh, authorities said.
Officers responded to a call for shots fired at 4:29 p.m. The victim was riding his bike near Weller Avenue and 243rd Street in Rosedale, police said.
It appears the man was hit by a stray bullet from a drive-by shooting, sources said.
It was not clear how the teen may have been hit.
The victims were taken to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries. They are both expected to survive, police said.
