Police in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, used water cannons to disperse protestors demanding the demolition of a mosque built on encroached land. The protestors marched and sat on a dharna before attempting to proceed towards the mosque. Security was heightened after Hindu outfits called for the protest. The Muslim community had already demolished an unauthorised portion of the mosque.
