I get up at 3.55am to clean & do TWO workouts before work at 8.30 – people say they’re exhausted just watching me
A WOMAN has left people in shock after revealed that she wakes up at 3:55 am to clean her whole house and fit in two workouts before she goes to work at 8:30.
Nikki Farah left people exhausted just by looking at her, as she shared a video of her morning routine to her YouTube channel.
Nikki does the cleaning at 4am[/caption] She does two lots of cardio before work[/caption]After rolling out of bed in the pitch black, Nikki immediately gets dressed, and then gets on with household chores.
She revealed that she always leaves her dishes from the night before unwashed before she goes to bed, as she prefers to do them in the morning.
After giving the whole house a scrub, which takes her to 4:30am, Nikki gets ready for her first workout.
She said: “Tuesdays are what I call double cardio day, so I’ll do a walk or a run, and then I’ll swim.
“My goal is 10,000 steps and then swimming for 45 minutes”, she said.
After her strenuous exercise routine, Nikki relaxes in the spa, and then walks back home at about 6:40am.
When she gets home, at 7:30am, she cooks breakfast for herself and her partner.
She added that she makes sure to weigh everything out, as her man is trying to gain weight.
“His is about 1,000 calories, and mine is about 360 calories, with 40g of protein”, she said.
After eating her breakfast and doing a quick prayer, Nikki washes up, and then gets ready for work.
In order to make sure she gets enough sleep, Nikki explained that she goes to bed around 7 or 8pm.
She explained that she has always been an early riser, but started getting up at 3am, back in 2017, when she was training for her first marathon.
Nikki’s (@nikkifarah) video has likely left many people open-mouthed, as it has racked up over 8.8 million views on the video sharing platform.
The best sleep routine and environment
Thomas Høegh Reisenhus, TEMPUR® sleep specialist & sleep counsellor, reveals the key components of a good bedtime routine and environment...
A sure-fire way to facilitate a better night’s sleep is to practice good sleep hygiene.
Establish a sleep routine that works for you and stick to it.
This will help your body establish a consistent, natural sleep-wake cycle which can do wonders for your overall sleep quality.
As such, try to avoid making up for lost sleep with a lie-in.
Instead of sleeping in, spend your morning reading a book in bed or having a leisurely coffee in the kitchen.
Ensure that your bedroom, bedding, and sleepwear are fit for purpose too.
The ideal sleep environment is dark, quiet, and cool – much like a cave.
If you find unwelcome sources of light are keeping you up, consider investing in an eye mask or black-out curtains.
Adding soft furnishings can be a great way to reduce noise, with the surfaces having an absorptive quality, but if this doesn’t work, consider embracing a soothing soundtrack to block it out.
In terms of temperature, try to keep your bedroom at 18°C. You can further reduce the risk of waking up due to overheating by ensuring that all your bedding and sleepwear is made with natural, breathable materials such as cotton and linen.
Bear in mind that everyone is different; what might work for most, may not work for you!
Whilst knowing how much sleep you should get, how to overcome common barriers, and practicing good sleep hygiene can facilitate a great night’s sleep, if you continue to struggle with sleep or fatigue persistently, do not hesitate to visit a doctor or health professional for support.
YouTube users raced to the video’s comments section, to share their shock at Nikki’s intense morning routine.
One person said: “I’ve gone back to bed exhausted just watching you.”
Another person said: “I would literally rather do anything than get up at 4am.
“That’s insane, that’s the middle of the night.”
A third person said: “This discipline is another level.”
A fourth added: “Your morning is my entire week.”
