A first-year pharmacy student named Shubham from Himachal Pradesh at Punjabi University Patiala has been found dead in his hostel room. Initial investigations point to suicide; however, no note was recovered. The incident occurred during the weekend when his roommate was away. Police are continuing their inquiries.
