Looking to make it two straight over the South Siders

After last night’s closer than expected win the club will try to get a little winning streak going against the White Sox in game two of the series against the South Siders.

Oakland will rock with rookie right-hander JT Ginn for tonight’s contest. Ginn will be hoping to build off the strong performances he’s put up over his past few contests. Over just his last two starts the rookie has thrown 11 full frames while allowing five runs while posting a 12/2 K/BB ratio. Not bad, even against the Mariners and Tigers lineups. Tonight shouldn’t be any harder than those two assignments but you can’t take anything for granted in the majors.

Here is how the Athletics will line up for the second game of the series:

As you may have noticed, we have a familiar face back in tonight’s lineup. First baseman Tyler Soderstrom rejoins the team after an extended absence on the IL with a wrist bone bruise. He’s in the field for his first game back and he’ll be batting seventh in tonight’s lineup.

The bats will be going up against White Sox righty Chris Flexen, who has not had a good year for the South Siders. With a 2-14 win-loss record it’s somewhat surprising that Chicago is still going with him but with only two weeks left to go what’s the harm?

Here is how Chicago will line up for tonight’s contest:

Excellent chance at a sweep, but gotta take it tonight. Let’s go A’s!
