Fire truck Pull crowns newest champion
TOPEKA (KSNT) - The second annual automobile pull hosted by the Combat Air Museum and Be Filled, crowned its new champion Saturday morning.
This year's fire truck weighed 55 tons. 14 local businesses teamed up to see who could cross the 20 feet line the fastest. This event serves as a fundraiser for the non-profit, Be Filled. They've helped provide clothes, food and more to 55,000 people in the past two and half years.
"We were looking for fun, creative ways to raise money for our non-profit and this just seemed like something that would get community engaged, team engagement, and to have fun," Brandi Brown, one of the directors of Be Filled, said. "So, we decided to start with airplanes last year, and firetrucks this year."
This year, Mars took home the championship belt kicking the fire department from the reigning spot.
