Foreign ministry expresses condolences to Vietnam typhoon victims
The foreign ministry on Sunday expressed its condolences and sadness over the deaths in Vietnam as a result of typhoon Yagi.
In a post on its account on the platform X, the ministry said it was profoundly saddened by the events.
“Profoundly saddened by the tragic loss of life and destruction in northern Vietnam, caused by typhoon Yagi. Sincere condolences to the families of the victims. Our thoughts are with the Government and people of Vietnam during this difficult time.”
On Friday, the death toll in Vietnam from typhoon Yagi and the landslides and flash floods it triggered was at 254. More than 820 people have been injured and dozens missing.
