Limassol-Nicosia highway closed

The queue on the Limassol-Nicosia highway stretched on endlessly on Sunday, after an accident with a semitruck.

Police urged the public to use the exit at Governor’s beach until operations to remove the truck were completed. Both lanes were closed near Kalavasos.

Drivers stuck on the highway took to social media to vent their frustration as the line of cars droned on endlessly.

“We’ve been stuck at the same spot for 25 minutes,” one individual said.

Another posted that “it was criminal” that every time a truck crashed it led to the highway closing.
